Sea Otter Europe sets a new attendance record with nearly 80,000 visitors for its 10th anniversary

The Sea Otter Europe 2026 has concluded its tenth edition with the highest figures in its history. Nearly 80,000 people attended the festival in Girona over the three days, which also recorded a record of sports participation and brought together cyclists, enthusiasts, professionals, and brands from more than 100 countries.

Ten years after its first edition, Sea Otter Europe continues to grow. The organization estimates that around 80,000 visitors attended the festival from Friday to Sunday, the highest record achieved so far.

The attendance was steady throughout the weekend, especially in the exhibition area and in the spaces dedicated to activities and product testing. The growth has also extended to the venue itself, which this year featured more than 500 brands and 10% more exhibition space.

These figures consolidate the formula that Sea Otter Europe has been developing over its first decade. In one space, the presentation of new products, bike and component testing, international competition, and activities open to all types of cyclists coexist.

The Demobike has once again been one of the most active points. More than 40 brands organized rides for attendees to test bikes of different types, reinforcing one of the main attractions of the event: the opportunity to directly experience and test many of the new products coming to market.

More than 6,500 cyclists and representation from over 100 nationalities

The record attendance was accompanied by another important figure. More than 6,500 cyclists participated in the various races, rides, and activities held over the weekend. Only the Ciclobrava by Lapierre gathered more than 2,200 participants on Sunday on the roads of Girona and the Costa Brava.

The tenth edition also reinforced the international character of the festival. According to data provided by the organization, during these days, more than 100 nationalities were represented, both among visitors and participants as well as among brands, industry professionals, and accredited media. The presence included representatives from all five continents.

Alongside the public area, Sea Otter Connect was added, the professional space that began on Thursday and brought together representatives from the cycling industry, commerce, mobility, tourism, innovation, and media.

Competition also played a major role with Valero and Fischer

The sports program was another of the major pillars of the weekend. On Saturday, a race of the 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series was held, while on Sunday La Tramun closed the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup.

It was precisely there that one of the great Spanish results of the weekend occurred. David Valero won La Tramun and was crowned champion of the XCM World Cup 2026, while Natalia Fischer finished third in the women's race, won by the Swiss Anna Weinbeer. Sea Otter Europe already has dates for 2027

With the record attendance of its tenth anniversary, Sea Otter Europe closes its most crowded edition and is already looking forward to next year. The organization has confirmed that the 11th edition will be held in Girona from September 17 to 19, 2027.
