Limited editions S-Works Tarmac SL8 and Aethos with the new SRAM RED AXS
Specialized announces the arrival of the new SRAM RED AXS to several models in its catalog. The American brand will now mount it on the top-of-the-line versions of the Tarmac SL8, Roubaix SL8, and Aethos. In addition, they have produced 300 numbered units of an exclusive S-Works Tarmac SL8 LTD and another 100 of an S-Works Aethos LTD.
Specialized opens the door to the new SRAM RED AXS with two exclusive versions of the Tarmac SL8 and Aethos
There had been much speculation about the new SRAM RED AXS - the brand's wireless electronic road groupset reference - after five years on the market. The constant evolution in the cycling industry pushed for a renewal that has finally come to light. The group, which equips four professional peloton teams, is now a reality after months of speculation: the patent for new shifters, the first leaked images, or more recently, an almost final prototype on the Bora-Hansgrohe bikes.

Now, Specialized has announced that they will incorporate the new SRAM RED AXS into various pieces of their catalog. Firstly, the announcement stands out for the launch of two exclusive editions of the S-Works Tarmac SL8 and S-Works Aethos, which will come equipped with S-Works Power Saddles with Mirror and the new Hammerhead Karoo cycling computer with custom K-Edge support.
Both models have silver details on the thru-axles and a new and exclusive high-quality fine-grain matte finish called Glacial Metallic.
Only 300 units of the S-Works Tarmac SL8 LTD will be produced, while the number will be even lower for the S-Works Aethos LTD, of which there will be only 100 units. Each bike will be individually numbered to enhance the exclusivity of the product.
Both models will become the most complete and lightweight versions of their respective families. Weight is one of the most carefully considered aspects at these levels of components and performance, so this new Tarmac SL8 LTD weighs in at 6.78 kg, while the Aethos LTD weighs in at 6.26 kg - the frame weighs 585 grams.
Secondly, Specialized has also stated that the new SRAM RED AXS groupset will be available on the S-Works Tarmac SL8 - with two new color combinations - and S-Works Roubaix SL8 and S-Works Aethos - with a new color combination.
