Van Rysel XCR Tri, Decathlon presents its first specific triathlon bike
After launching its Van Rysel XCR to the market a few months ago, with UCI specifications for use in road competitions, it has not taken long, as we could expect, for its version for long-distance triathlon to arrive, the Van Rysel XCR Tri which becomes the perfect weapon for the thousands of triathletes who have Ironman distance in their sights.
Van Rysel's time trial bike now in a version for triathletes
Decathlon has not complicated things much when creating a specific time trial bike for triathlon. Having already in its catalog the excellent Van Rysel XCR that has been used by the Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale team, it has only had to make some small adjustments to this machine to adapt it to long-distance triathlon enthusiasts.
In fact, the frame of this new Van Rysel XCR Tri is exactly the same high-modulus carbon frame developed with aerodynamics specialists Swiss Side that the UCI-approved version uses. However, its handlebar is designed for the needs of the triathlete thanks to the use of a mounting plate, armrests, and extensions specific to this discipline that allow maximizing length and width without having to adhere to the strict UCI specifications.

If Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale was the team in charge of developing the time trial version, for this triathlon version the brand has relied on the two-time European Champion, Frenchman Denis Chevrot.
In adapting this bike to triathlon, the brand has opted for Swiss Side Hadron2 wheels with a higher profile. Specifically, it mounts a front wheel of 62.5 mm and a rear wheel of 80 mm to maximize its aerodynamic qualities. An additional integrated storage space is also added on the top tube, fully integrated with the frame lines where you can carry a good amount of gels and bars, something essential in long-distance races where the bike leg is used to constantly eat and drink in order to arrive at the running leg with the maximum possible energy.
It will only be available with a Shimano Ultegra Di2 assembly in which the left crank includes an Inpeak powercrank-E single power meter, another essential element in long-distance triathlon to achieve optimal performance.
A bike that will be available on the Decathlon website from Monday, December 3rd until stocks last.
