Van Rysel launches its first carbon wheels for road and gravel starting at 799€ per set
VR35 and VR50 is the designation of the latest addition to Decathlon's range, two new wheelsets that continue to deepen the path of the French brand to have increasingly technical and higher-end products but without forgetting its mantra of making sports as accessible as possible to a greater number of people.
Road or gravel, this is how the new Van Rysel wheels that Decathlon has just launched are
Interesting treats that Decathlon has just presented in the form of carbon wheels that will surely make the assemblies of their RCR and RCR Pro much more attractive, in addition to offering access to quality carbon wheels to many cyclists thanks to their tremendously attractive price.
The new offer of Van Rysel carbon wheels consists of two models, VR35 and VR50, with identical characteristics but varying the aerodynamic profile between them: 35 mm for the former and 50 mm for the latter. Wind-resistant features for whose development the experience acquired in the production of road bikes used by Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale has been vital.

The carbon rims are connected with 24 conical spokes with a DT370 Classic hub that, in the case of the rear wheel, includes the characteristic and efficient ratchet system of the Swiss freehub, with Decathlon offering both HG type cores for Shimano users and XD-R for those who use SRAM's 12v cassettes.
Needless to say, the rims come prepared with tubeless rim tape to be able to use tubeless tires, including tubeless valves with them as well as 8 spare spokes, 2 of each of the lengths used in the set, to easily replace them in case one of them breaks.
Speaking of the rim, it should be mentioned that it has an internal width of 22 mm, which allows the use of tires between 25 and 55 mm, although, as the brand claims, the aerodynamics of the rims, designed for road use, are optimized for 700x28c tires.
However, although they are focused on asphalt, the brand also includes these VR35 and VR50 in their offer for gravel riding, which is a good indication that they have prioritized the wheel's robustness over other parameters. This is reflected in the weight of both sets, which is 1,480 g for the 35 mm version and 1,550 g for the VR50. Both suitable for a maximum bike/rider weight of 130 kg.
Both are already available on the Decathlon website at an unbeatable price of €899.99 for the VR50 and €799.99 for the VR35.
