Van Rysel is withdrawing some bike models due to issues with Swiss Side and DT Swiss
The delamination problems that forced DT Swiss to withdraw a large number of wheels from the market and issue a recall to hundreds of customers have also affected aerodynamics specialist Swiss Side, whose wheels are manufactured by DT. These wheels have brought the Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale team into the spotlight and are mounted on the high-end models of Van Rysel RCR bikes available at Decathlon.

Swiss Side wheels on Van Rysel bikes also affected by DT Swiss failures
DT Swiss continues to face issues related to incidents arising in their wheels due to delamination problems in the carbon, which could lead to wheel breakage, posing a risk when riding at high speeds.
Now, the affected bikes are the Van Rysel RCR bikes, the top-selling model that Decathlon launched last year to equip the World Tour Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale team. These bikes have significant aerodynamic work behind them by Swiss specialist Swiss Side, who not only provides their expertise but also supplies the team with their Hadron wheels, wheels whose manufacturing Swiss Side leaves in the hands of Swiss wheel giant DT Swiss.

These wheels were also found in some of the standard setups of the Van Rysel RCR bikes. The fact that DT Swiss is the manufacturer of these wheels has meant that the delamination problems that have arisen in several wheel models have also affected some series of Swiss Side Hadron Classic and Ultimate wheels.
Specifically, in the announcement made by Decathlon, it mentions the Van Rysel RCR Pro Ultegra and Van Rysel RCR Dura-Ace models sold between August 1, 2024, and August 4, 2025. If your bike is among those affected, Decathlon urges customers to stop using it immediately due to the risk of wheel breakage and to contact DT Swiss through the dedicated website to verify if the wheel is indeed affected and for the brand to proceed with its replacement.
