Roglic is the only one of the favorites involved in accidents who is already thinking about the Tour
Despite the optimism of seeing Primoz Roglic in the races at Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Bora-Hansgrohe has preferred to be cautious and announced that the Slovenian will not take part in the Ardennes classics, focusing on fully recovering from the injuries suffered in the crash at the Itzulia and starting his preparation for the Tour de France.
Bora-Hansgrohe decides not to risk Primoz Roglic in the Ardennes
Of the favorites involved in the spectacular crash at the Itzulia, Primoz Roglic was the one who suffered the least consequences despite the striking photos that the cyclist himself posted on his social media with his body full of abrasions.
However, a couple of days ago, Primoz Roglic announced that he was back to training normally, which clearly seemed to indicate that the Bora-Hansgrohe cyclist would stick to his initially planned race program, which included participating in the Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

But Bora-Hansgrohe has preferred not to take any risks and let Primoz Roglic fully recover from his injuries, move forward the planned short break after the Ardennes, and start the specific preparation for the Tour de France as soon as possible.
The first part of the season has been very subdued for the Slovenian cyclist, who has only participated in Paris-Nice, where he finished 10th in the general classification, although he showed good sensations in the shortened queen stage that ended at La Madone d'Utelle, where he finished third; and in the Itzulia, a race in which, until the moment of the unfortunate crash in the fourth stage, he had an indisputable victory in the opening time trial.
With this break, we will not see Primoz Roglic with a race number until the Criterium du Dauphine, a usual appointment for many of the contenders for victory in the Tour de France.
