Rockrider presents a very '90s edition for the Les Gets World Cup
The Decathlon Ford Racing Team will race this weekend in Les Gets with one of the most special versions we have seen of their Rockrider RACE 904S. The French team has prepared a very particular decoration to celebrate Decathlon's 50th anniversary, and for this, they have revived the colors and some of the symbols of one of the most remembered mountain bikes in the company's history: the Cap Nord from 1992.
A Rockrider RACE 904S inspired by the Decathlon Cap Nord
The choice of Les Gets could hardly be more appropriate. The World Cup returns from August 20 to 23 to French territory in the last major event before the World Championship in Val di Sole, and it will also be a particularly important weekend for the Decathlon Ford Racing Team. The celebration of their main sponsor's anniversary coincides with the much-anticipated return of Samara Maxwell to the World Cup.
Decathlon was founded in 1976, and during 2026 it is celebrating its half-century of history by reviving some of the products and designs that marked different eras of the company.
Within that celebration, the Cap Nord holds a prominent place. Launched in 1992, this MTB belongs to an era when mountain biking was beginning to spread among a much broader audience, and Decathlon played an important role in making a discipline that until then still had much of a niche sport more accessible.

More than three decades later, its aesthetic, geometry, and clearly 90s decoration have also made it a very recognizable and sought-after bike by enthusiasts and collectors.
Decathlon has already recovered that legacy with the new EXPL 100, a bike priced at 399 euros that reinterprets the aesthetic of the Cap Nord as part of the activities organized for the 50th anniversary. And now that same inspiration reaches the highest level of competition.
The Decathlon Ford Racing Team has customized the Rockrider RACE 904S of its riders with a graphic scheme directly inspired by that Cap Nord. A retro decoration applied, in this case, to a current competition bike prepared to face one of the most demanding circuits of the World Cup.

Among the historical nods, "À fond la forme" also appears, one of the most recognizable slogans used by Decathlon during its early years, which could be translated as "Go all out with exercise."

The result connects two completely different moments in the brand's history. From the time when Decathlon helped popularize mountain biking among thousands of new enthusiasts to the present, where Rockrider competes directly in the international XCO elite.
Les Gets, a special race for the Decathlon Ford Racing Team
The decoration will debut in one of the most important weekends of the season. The XCO World Cup in Les Gets will be the last major rehearsal before the World Championship in Val di Sole and will bring together many of the best specialists on the planet.
For the Decathlon Ford Racing Team, it will have even more significance as it takes place in France, right in the celebration of Decathlon's 50th anniversary.

Additionally, Les Gets will mark the return of Samara Maxwell to the World Cup after her long absence. The New Zealander already made a comeback last weekend with a victory in France and will now compete directly with the main references of international XCO.
So the team will arrive in Les Gets with many eyes focused on their box.
