The World Cup came to France as the last event before the Tokyo Olympics and the women's Short Track opened the weekend with the victory of Pauline Ferrand Prevot in front of her home crowd.

From the very start, the Swedish Jenny Rissveds took the lead of the race with Pauline Ferrand Prevot, Loana Lecomte and Kate Courtney on her wheel. And so it remained until lap 3, when Lura Stigger tried a first attack from behind with which she took the lead but failed to open gaps.

The group kept riding as a block on this explosive short track, to which some rock gardens have been added this year and incorporated into the Short Track layout.

Jenny Rissveds was still completing laps in the lead and testing the rest with some change of pace, but no attack had decisive intentions yet on lap 7.

It was at the beginning of the penultimate lap when Jenny Rissveds made a hard change of pace that only Pauline Ferrand Prevot and Sina Frei could handle.

Pauline responded with another definitive attack on the uphill of the last lap that allowed her to take the victory of the Short Track in front of her home crowd. Switzerland's Sina Frei was second and Jenny Rissveds closed the podium.

Spanish Rocío del Alba García finally finished in 30th position.
