QO, the premium components brand from the founders of Rotor, expands its range with the Race SL cranksets
Just 6 months ago, QO made its debut with a small but juicy range of aerodynamically designed carbon cranks. Now, the premium components brand created by the founders of Rotor expands its catalog with the announcement of its spectacular Race SL cranks for road cycling.
New QO Race SL cranks, maximum performance and lightness for your road bike
QO remains true to the philosophy with which it was born just 6 months ago: offering premium level components at a much more accessible price than those exquisite components that we often only see in showroom setups.
A testament to these principles is the launch, taking advantage of the celebration during these days of the Eurobike fair, of the new Race SL cranks with which QO seeks to provide a good option for those road cyclists looking to lighten their bike to the limit but refuse to lose the performance in terms of stiffness that first-class cranks provide.

510 grams with 50/34 chainrings, just 80g more than much more exclusive and of course expensive cranks, as these QO Race SL are priced at 899 euros, a figure even lower than those of Shimano or SRAM groups.
To achieve this weight, the QO Race SL cranks are built using Mitsubishi Pyrofil carbon. The axle, on the other hand, is made of lightweight 7075 T6 aluminum with the particularity of having a diameter of 28.99 mm, that is, the DUB standard used by SRAM in their cranks.
Like the existing cranks in the QO catalog, these Race SL cranks take aerodynamics into account. For this purpose, their surface has small dimples, similar to golf balls, which causes the airflow to become slightly turbulent, making the air stick to the crank surface at higher angles of incidence. A solution that we have seen successfully used in Zipp wheels for years.
The chainrings of the QO Race SL cranks are compatible with both SRAM transmissions, with their unique Flattop chains, and with Shimano transmissions. They will be available in lengths ranging from 160 mm to 175 mm and with chainrings 50/34, 52/36, and 54/40. In any case, to enjoy them on our bikes, we will have to wait until the fourth quarter of 2025 when they are expected to arrive in stores.
