The police go to Scott's headquarters for the dispute between executives: "Nothing serious happened"
A few days ago we reported on the mess happening at the top of Scott since the end of April due to the replacement of the current CEO. But far from being resolved, the situation has continued to worsen to the point that the police had to go to the company's headquarters last Wednesday.
Police called to Scott headquarters due to tension among executives
Last week, the majority shareholder of Scott, the South Korean group Youngone Corp, announced a change in the company's board of directors to "update the brand". Beat Zaugg, CEO of Scott since 1998, was replaced by Juwon Kim, who had been part of the board since 2022.
Zaugg immediately denied the change and pointed out that the announcement had been made by a communication agency working for Youngone in Korea and not for Scott Sports. Additionally, he stated that the press release was intended to destabilize the company and its employees, and claimed that the dispute arose from a "cultural clash" between Youngone and the company. He also stated that he remained the boss.

The same communication agency quickly responded that Youngone's representatives have a majority on the Scott board and had voted to dismiss Zaugg.
The tension between both parties seemed to continue growing to the point that on Wednesday, the euro.dayfr newspaper reported the police intervention at Scott's headquarters. It seems that the security forces had to respond to a call from an employee, but did not have to take action. This was explained by the spokesperson for the Fribourg police, Bertrand Ruffieux:
"Nothing serious happened. We intervened in a civil matter, a dispute between managers. In these types of cases, the police are called to the scene to facilitate a discussion and for people to understand each other. But there were no injuries or arrests."
We hope that in the coming days the situation will be clarified and we will have official information about the board of directors.
