POC launches the new Cytal Lite helmet at the Tour de France 2025: ultralight and ventilated
POC has officially presented the new Cytal Lite, an ultralight helmet designed to offer maximum performance in hot conditions and during the most demanding efforts in climbing. The launch coincides with its debut at the 2025 Tour de France, where it is being used by several riders from the EF Pro Cycling team, both in the men's race and in the Tour de France Femmes.

New POC Cytal Lite: extreme lightness for maximum performance
Weighing less than 200 grams in a medium size, the Cytal Lite is intended for cyclists seeking maximum efficiency and weight savings. Although it does not sacrifice safety, POC has fine-tuned every detail of the helmet to adapt to the most demanding conditions, especially in high mountain stages or hot climates.

When do helmets have to be changed? Do they have an expiration date?
"The Cytal Lite is designed for when every gram counts and heat management is critical", explains Magnus Gustafsson, Director of Hard Goods at POC. "We have improved the structure to reduce weight and optimize airflow."
The ventilation system of the Cytal Lite has been specifically designed to function optimally at typical climbing speeds (20-30 km/h), without losing efficiency at lower or higher speeds. The open structure of the front padding and integrated wings allow for constant cooling throughout the head.
From EF Pro Cycling, Peter Schep, the team's performance director, emphasizes: "For years we focused on aerodynamics. Now, with rising temperatures, heat management is equally important. The Cytal Lite makes a difference."
