The "pink panther" with which Van der Poel will race the Giro time trial

After taking the desired maglia rosa yesterday, Mathieu van der Poel has the difficult task of defending it today in a time trial stage of less than 10 km and with the last uphill section. To do so, Alpecin Fenix has prepared a spectacular all-pink Canyon Speedmax CFR TT for him.

The second stage of the Giro d'Italia 2022 will be a 9.2km time trial through Budapest with a 1.3km high finish at 4.9%. There, Mathieu van der Poel will have to defend the lead against riders like Magnus Cort or Wilco Kelderman who could do very well in this stage and over whom he has a lead of 8 seconds.

 

In order to give it a try, Alpecin Fenix has customised this Canyon Speedmax CFR TT by painting it completely pink. A bike that was presented as "the fastest time trial bike built by Canyon" just for the previous edition of the Giro d'Italia.
