Pauline Ferrand-Prévot dominates cycling with a great victory in the Tour de France 2025
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot had been waiting for the two years since her return to road cycling to conquer the Tour de France. In the spring, she already gave us a tremendous display of her class by winning the Paris-Roubaix and now, after thorough preparation, she has been absolutely superior in the Tour de France, fulfilling her ultimate cycling dream.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot makes her dream of winning the Tour de France come true
5-time XCO world champion, road world champion in Ponferrada in 2015, cyclocross world champion, gravel world champion, and a return to a professionalized road cycling, very different from the one she left to focus on mountain biking, where she has conquered the Paris-Roubaix and, the jewel in the crown, the great race she longed for, the Women's Tour de France.
An excellent Palmarès that leaves Pauline Ferrand-Prévot as one of the best cyclists in history, of course with the permission of the queen Marianne Vos or the historic French cyclist Jeannie Longo, and who has claimed this 2025 edition of the Tour de France with tremendous effectiveness and decisiveness: one shot, one kill.

The Tour de France started in the Brittany region, which, as in the men's edition, offered us tremendously interesting stages. The first one with Marianne Vos imposing herself in an uphill sprint, demonstrating that, although her best days are behind her, she still has the class to show and continue to add to her immense palmarès.
The second stage, another stage that seemed like a sort of Liège with small climbs and breakaways seeking to surprise, was won by another veteran like Mavi García, who attacked in the final part of the stage managing to resist the relentless pursuit of a peloton that was stalking her, thus achieving what is surely the most important victory of her career.
Brittany left the Tour de France heading towards the heart of the country. A couple of flat stages that had the expected sprint finish. A duel between Lorena Wiebes and Marianne Vos that was decided in favor of the European Champion, who also took a firm lead in the points classification.
The first test for the favorites came in the fifth stage, a stage with a broken finish where the favorites arrived at the front, not without tension due to the multiple attacks and cuts trying to surprise. A finish in which Kimberley Le Court took the victory and also claimed the yellow jersey, raising doubts about the leadership in the AG Insurance-Soudal team given the difficulties that their leader, Sarah Gigante, had been facing every day to ride in the peloton or maintain the pace in the descents due to her technical shortcomings.
There were a couple of mountain stages, with the favorites biding their time and a fantastic Maeva Squivan who achieved two very high-level victories that made her the new idol of the French fans. It wasn't until the penultimate stage, the queen stage of the race with a finish at the mythical Col de la Madeleine.
There, after remaining in a discreet second place throughout the Tour de France, an imperial Pauline Ferrand-Prévot made her appearance to break the race, without the need to attack, only by setting a pace that no one else, not Demi Vollering, not Kasia Niewiadoma, not Sarah Gigante, could follow, and that allowed her to seal her victory at the top of the alpine colossus in this 2025 edition of the Tour de France.
On the last day, the excitement was in how the other two steps of the podium would be arranged, as although Pauline Ferrand-Prévot was left without a team very early on, she had no major problem in keeping up with the attacks of a Sarah Gigante who lost her privileged position in the classification after once again showing her shortcomings in one of the most difficult descents, the Joux Plane, and losing touch with the, by then, reduced group of favorites. In the final kilometers, Pauline allowed herself the luxury of attacking and having that coveted photo of winning a stage with the yellow jersey as proof of her great triumph.
