Pauline Ferrand-Prévot aims for the Olympics and renews with Team Visma Lease a Bike until 2028
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will continue to wear yellow and black until 2028. The French rider has extended her contract with Team Visma | Lease a Bike after a first road season that has exceeded even the most optimistic expectations.
Ferrand-Prévot, a pillar of the Visma project until 2028
The French cyclist, who returned to the asphalt in 2025 after closing her successful stage in XCO, has decided to continue with a project in which, according to her own words, she feels “happy” and “at home.” “For the first time, I feel that I am really understood, both as a person and as a cyclist. I don’t see myself anywhere else,” she explained after the renewal was announced.
It is worth remembering that Ferrand-Prévot competed in mountain biking with INEOS Grenadiers until 2024. That same year, she capped off her time in XCO by winning the Olympic gold medal, a milestone that marked the end of a cycle in the mountains.
With that title under her belt, she decided to refocus her career towards the road, a discipline in which she had already shone years ago, becoming the world champion in 2014 at the UCI Road World Championships 2014.

Her signing with the Dutch team raised doubts among part of the peloton. Women's cycling has experienced a significant leap in level in recent years, and it was unclear how a rider coming from XCO would fit into this new scenario. However, the Frenchwoman needed only one season to clear up any questions.

In her first year with the team, Ferrand-Prévot won prestigious races such as the Tour de France Femmes, becoming the first Frenchwoman to wear the final yellow jersey, and the Paris-Roubaix Femmes, triumphing over the cobblestones of northern France. Two victories that, in the words of CEO Richard Plugge, demonstrate that “she belongs to the absolute elite of women's cycling.”
Team manager Rutger Tijssen also highlighted her internal influence and emphasized her ambition and constant desire for improvement, qualities that, according to the coach, elevate the level of the entire team, not only in races but also in preparation and competitive mentality.
Beyond immediate successes, the renewal until 2028 points to a long-term strategy. Ferrand-Prévot has indicated that one of her next focuses will be to improve in the time trial, a key area in current grand tours. Additionally, she has set her sights on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games as a major sporting goal.
With this contract extension, Team Visma | Lease a Bike consolidates its project around a proven leader, while Ferrand-Prévot reaffirms at 34 years old a second sporting youth that, far from being an unknown, has become one of the most solid stories in recent women's cycling.
