The Orbea Fox Enduro Team completes a perfect weekend at the Leogang E-EDR World Cup
The E-EDR World Cup moved to Leogang for the third race of the season - after Italy and Poland - and the riders from the Orbea Fox Enduro Team emerged as the undisputed protagonists of the weekend. After racing on Friday in EDR, Martin Maes decided to take part in his first E-EDR race. The Belgian rider struggled with the lack of experience in the Power Stages, but was able to shine on the new Orbea Wild with a performance that earned him first place in seven of the nine stages.
The dominance with which he led the race secured him the victory and placed him on the top step of the podium with a significant lead; the triumph was sealed on the 2,692 meters of descent over the 84.5 km course. "The bike performed very well on the terrain, I felt comfortable and managed to descend quickly. It was a good day," he stated.

On the other hand, Flo Espiñeira secured another victory much to the delight of the team. The Chilean rider has started the year strongly - with three wins in three World Cup races - and adds another success to the season. Ritcher started strongly and maintained her chances until she had to retire due to a chain break. Espiñeira, who was consistently setting the best partial times, took over the virtual lead of the race and held onto it until the finish line.
Consistency was once again her strong point on a tough day. The first place increases her lead in the overall standings, now 310 points ahead of Laura Charles. "It has been a great day for me and the team. I had a tough start, but I decided to reset and keep pushing. I have achieved one of my main goals by reaching the halfway point of the season with three wins and a lead in the overall standings," she explained after the race.
