New super lightweight TPU Aeron inner tube with aluminum valves
A new player joins the offer of thermoplastic polyurethane or TPU inner tubes. The material that has revolutionized this component for those who still resist making the leap to tubeless but do not want to give up having the least rolling resistance in their tires. The Aeron TPU tubes arrive with intentions of breaking records on the scale.
Aeron pushes the advantages of TPU tubes to the limit
Founded by RTI Sports Group, manufacturer, among other products, of the characteristic Ergon grips, Aeron/TPU has been launched to market some spectacular tubes that, as its name indicates, are made of the trendy material, thermoplastic polyurethane.
We remind you that thanks to the use of this material, bike inner tubes are achieved that are almost as light as latex ones, with an adaptability that improves the rolling resistance of the tire compared to traditional butyl ones and all this with a puncture resistance and an air retention capacity much higher than that of latex ones.

Advantages and disadvantages of hookless wheels
To reduce the weight compared to other TPU inner tubes on the market, Aeron has used presta type valves made of aluminum. An aspect that also adds strength and durability to the tubes. Of course, as is usual in "expensive" cameras, they have a removable core that allows for easy installation of an extender in case they are used on wheels with a higher profile than usual.
The Aeron SuperLite Race TPU tubes are manufactured in a road version, which leaves the scale at just 21 g; gravel, whose weight rises to 30 g; and for MTB with a weight of 40 g. They all share the same price: €24.95. At the moment, they are only available in a 42 mm valve size, although the brand plans to introduce 65 and 80 mm versions for users of high-profile rims.
