New SCOTT Addict RC Sunset by Dangerholm: a bike that defies trends
The famous mechanic Gustav Gullholm, better known as Dangerholm, returns with another one of his exclusive creations. This time he has customized a SCOTT Addict RC to the extreme with the aim of creating a road bike capable of withstanding the passage of time and trends. The result is a very light and aerodynamic bike, but without losing resistance or climbing capabilities.
SCOTT Addict RC Sunset: this is how Dangerholm believes a timeless road bike should be
As is customary for Dangerholm, this SCOTT Addict RC Sunset has been assembled from scratch choosing each component and detail in its aesthetics. This time the goal was to achieve a bike "aerodynamic without being completely aerodynamic and light without being completely fragile, this bike aims to simply be a great road bike." In short, it is "a bike prepared for big climbs and long days in the saddle, or simply for a quick night ride in search of the sunset. And if you have the lungs and legs for it, of course also for competing or chasing a KOM."

Frame:
The SCOTT Addict RC has been around for a while in its current generation, but it remains a wonderful frame with reduced weight and excellent handling characteristics. The HMX SL version used here is the lightest option, as it uses high-level carbon material and an optimized weight composition.
Wheels:
The Syncros Capital SL carbon wheels are a marvel of engineering, molded in a single step with carbon fibers running through the spokes from end to end. Interestingly, they are not only light and responsive, but also very aerodynamic, rivaling the aerodynamic performance of some 60mm wheels from competitors despite their moderate 40mm rim profile.
The actual weight of this set was 1165g, an impressive weight considering the 25mm inner rim width and overall stiffness.
Drivetrain:
The centerpiece here is literally the THM Clavicula SE crankset with Carbon-Ti chainrings. Made in Germany, the cranks are of the highest quality and are made entirely of carbon (including the axle) to reduce weight to around 300 grams. The Carbon-Ti chainrings, made in Italy, are the perfect complement, and here the latest optimized AXS version is shown.
Looking at the rear, the rear derailleur has been equipped with the new CeramicSpeed RS OSPW system with an updated look and performance details. CeramicSpeed also manufactures the bottom bracket used in this bike to ensure efficient transmission.
Brakes:
The brake discs are not made of metal, but of carbon fiber with a steel braking surface. This makes them extremely light while maintaining maximum performance.
A hidden detail are the Trickstuff Power Alu brake pads, with a test-winning compound and aluminum support plates that save about 20g.
Tires:
The Syncros Captial SL wheels are, of course, fully tubeless, but in this version I have tubes. But not normal butyl tubes, but super light Revoloop Ultra tubes that weigh only 25g each and keep rolling resistance low.
The tires are the Vittoria Corsa N.EXT 28mm wide, very light and made of nylon. However, as tires are a good way to change both the appearance and the riding characteristics of the bike, I also have a set of toasted-colored Vittoria Corsa Pro tires with extra fast-rolling cotton casing to mount tubeless.
Paint:
Starting with a carbon base, the paint job was then created using a brush to carefully apply silver metallic paint followed by spraying five different colors of candy paint to create the sunset fade. To further enhance the look, the THM cranks were chosen, of course, in a glossy finish and the CeramicSpeed RS cage was custom painted in glossy with the silver logo.
Weight:
The bike weighs 6.45 kg including pedals, bottle cages, and Garmin mount.
