New Rallon 2026: Orbea enters the "Formula 1 of MTB" with its first DH bike
Orbea has officially presented its highly anticipated first downhill bike. The Rallon DH arrives as part of the renewed Rallon 2026 enduro platform, and with this presentation, the Basque brand significantly expands its presence in the elite mountain bike scene, betting on a machine capable of competing at the highest international level in what they themselves call the "Formula 1 of mountain biking."
Orbea Rallon 2026: the brand's first DH bike
Orbea's foray into DH represents a natural step for the brand, which has a long competitive tradition in various disciplines such as road cycling, MTB, triathlon, and gravel. Orbea has leveraged the momentum and experience gained in the enduro field with the Orbea Enduro Team and the technological advances achieved in their optimization laboratory, OOLAB, to make this qualitative leap towards DH.

Furthermore, this downhill debut is backed by a historic victory in the World Cup, achieved by Tahnee Seagrave last weekend in Poland, confirming the competitive potential of this new model from its launch.
The Orbea Rallon 2026 introduces a completely revamped platform that in some ways resembles the one used in the Wild, their most capable eBike, with which the team has already been testing in the DH World Cup by removing all the electrical system.
But focusing on the new Orbea Rallon DH, we have to mention that it features 200mm of travel both in the front and rear suspension, specifically designed to tackle the most demanding circuits in the world. Among its technical features are:
- Optimized kinematics: The GravityLink suspension system reduces pedal kickback effects, maximizing sensitivity to small impacts and providing solid support on strong impacts, avoiding bottoming out easily.
- Low center of gravity: Placing the shock in an extremely low position on the frame, along with the ability to add up to 583 grams of additional weight to the bottom bracket, ensures exceptional stability and composure.
- Mullet configuration: With a 29" front wheel and 27.5" rear wheel, it combines stability and maneuverability for optimal performance in all conditions.
- Specific DH and adaptable geometry: The Attitude Adjust system allows for quick modifications in shock progressivity (25-30%), steering angle adjustment (+/- 0.75°), and choice between two rear chainstay lengths (442mm for a more playful ride or 450mm for greater stability at high speeds).

But the Rallon 2026 has not only been designed to be fast, but also durable and quiet. The new complete internal cable routing eliminates vibrations and facilitates maintenance. The soft rubber protections included on the chainstays help minimize noise and damage. They include a setup with specific Gravity components capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of DH. The frame also includes a Second Skin for additional protection and an FLP multitool for quick and practical adjustments during races.
Enduro Version, Maximum Versatility
As mentioned, the Rallon 2026 includes, in addition to the DH model, a complete range specifically designed for enduro with the E-LTD, E-Team, and E-10 versions. These bikes offer 180mm of front travel and 170mm of rear travel, maintaining the essence of the GravityLink suspension with a more versatile approach. The Enduro range is equipped to optimize both climbs and descents, taking advantage of the potential of electronic shocks, such as the Fox Float X Live Valve Neo, which automatically adjusts the suspension to offer maximum pedaling efficiency and exceptional sensitivity on descents.
The Enduro models also come with advanced customization and adjustment options:
- Steep 'n' Deep Technology: more size options in telescopic seatposts (180mm, 210mm, 240mm).
- Attitude Adjust: includes the same adjustment options seen for the DH model.
- Mullet or full 29" configuration, allowing the bike to be adapted to handling preferences and trail types.
- Advanced component options such as Oquo MC32 LTD wheels and Sram X0 Eagle AXS electronic drivetrains on the top E-LTD model.
