New MMR X-Tour for Fernando Alonso to match his Aston Martin

It is well known that Fernando Alonso is a great fan of cycling, mainly road cycling. Now, the Asturian will also test the discipline of gravel riding one of the new MMR X-Tour. The company from his homeland has prepared a very special version for him, painted in the colors of his Aston Martin.

While we are still waiting for the 33rd to arrive, hopefully at the next Belgian GP at a circuit with such a cycling flavor as Spa-Francorchamps, Fernando Alonso has to be content with celebrating his 42nd birthday. A good reason for MMR, the Asturian brand of which Alonso is an ambassador from 2021, to give him a unit of the X-Tour, its new gravel bike presented a few months ago and which joins the Adrenaline SL road bike and Rakish mountain bike that the Formula 1 driver already had at his disposal.

The X-Tour that MMR has prepared for Fernando Alonso has the peculiarity of a decoration in the British Racing Green color so characteristic of Aston Martin, the team for which the Spaniard races, with subtle yellow details in the inner areas of the rear triangle and fork and the number 14 that he wears on his car occupying a prominent place in the top tube.

In addition to the decoration, MMR has also prepared a custom set-up for this bike, starting with the SRAM Force AXS groupset in a 40-tooth single chainring configuration that includes a power meter. It is combined with an X0 Eagle 10-52 cassette for which it is necessary to resort to a mountain bike rear derailleur, in this case, also an X0 Eagle.

For its part, the wheels are in the hands of DT-Swiss, which provides its specific model for gravel GRC 1400 Spline Carbon on which are mounted Hutchinson Touarerg tyres in 700x40c. Completing the list of components are a Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle and the exquisite Vision Metron 5D handlebars.
