New Canyon Aeroad 2025: a bike tested by Van der Poel
When brands manage to find a cyclist who is involved in the development of bicycles, they have a tremendously valued asset. This is the case of Mathieu van der Poel for Canyon, who has made more than 50 proposals that the German firm has incorporated into the new Aeroad, which Alpecin-Deceuninck has used throughout the 2024 Tour de France.
Extra Speed for the World Champion
For several weeks now, we had been anticipating the launch of a new Canyon Aeroad that we had seen the Alpecin-Deceuninck cyclists using in the recent races. Now, we know all the details of this new creation from the German brand in which Mathieu van der Poel has actively participated.

The new Canyon Aeroad starts with various tweaks to the aerodynamic shapes of its tubes, as we had already noticed, especially in the head tube, which is sharper and has a deeper profile. Of course, improvements have been made in the carbon layup to achieve greater stiffness without increasing weight.
The same goes for the fork, although in this case, it has been made more robust to allow for use on more demanding terrain such as the Paris-Roubaix, with details like the lower headset seat made of titanium for greater strength.
Canyon continues to evolve its integrated handlebar, with the new PACE that, like the model on its predecessor, allows not only to adjust its width but also the ends that include the handlebar curve are interchangeable so that we can switch between a classic handlebar to one with flare in a few minutes and, even for those triathlon enthusiasts, it allows for the integrated mounting of a specifically created attachment for this PACE.
