Born in 1992, the Campagnolo Shamal were a revolution in their time, being the first to introduce the concept of high profile in search of better aerodynamics. Although today they have been relegated to a second tier in the Campagnolo range after the impressive Bora, the Vincenza brand continues to treat them with affection and does not hesitate to use them as a testing ground for new technologies.

These new Campagnolo Shamal introduce the concept of Dual Profile, combining two profile heights in the same rim: 40 and 45 mm, seeking to improve aerodynamics in crosswind conditions and, at the same time, guaranteeing maximum wheel stiffness without compromising other characteristics such as absorption capacity.

This design is only possible thanks to Campagnolo's characteristic G3 spoking pattern, where the spokes are grouped in 3s. It is precisely in the area where each group of three nipples is located that the rim has a 45 mm profile.

On the other hand, the carbon rims have current specifications with a 23 mm width throat, suitable for the large volume tires that are becoming the general norm. Specifically, Campagnolo recommends using a minimum size of 700x28c on these Shamal.

Of course, the rim is 2-Way Fit, Campagnolo's tubeless system that avoids the need for rim tape as it lacks spoke holes. Instead, the nipples are passed to their housings from the valve hole guided by a magnet.
