Favorites for victory and who will take the overall classification
This is the last chance of the year to achieve a prestigious victory and in Mont-Sainte-Anne, there will surely be many names at the top positions again.
RECOMENDADO
In the men's race, it is worth noting the absence of Tom Pidcock, who ended his MTB season after the World Championships, but the number of favorites for victory will be high again. Frenchman Victor Koretzky, who won the XCO and XCC in Lake Placid, and South African Alan Hatherly, the recent World Champion, will once again be the men to beat, but in Lake Placid we saw that Nino Schurter, Simon Andreassen, Chris Blevins, Charlie Aldridge, or Filippo Colombo could also be fighting for the win.
The XCO General Classification was practically decided in Lake Placid after Nino Schurter lost all his chances due to several punctures and Alan Hatherly would only need to score in Mont-Sainte-Anne to secure it.
The women's race will once again have the absences of Puck Pieterse, who said goodbye to MTB this season after winning the World Championships, Pauline Ferrand Prevot, and American Haley Batten, who is recovering from a concussion. But those absences have opened up the field of potential winners and the Mont-Sainte-Anne race will feature a large number of favorites. Savilia Blunk, Candice Lill, Laura Stigger, Loana Lecomte, Sina Frei, Jenny Rissveds, Alessandra Keller, or Bec Henderson are currently at a level where anyone could win.
Swiss rider Alessandra Keller has already been crowned the winner of the XCC General Classification and has practically secured the XCO title. By finishing within the top 35 on Sunday, she will once again retain her title.
