Canyon CLLTV dominates Banyoles Short Track
With a high level selection of riders and the World Cup atmosphere of a UCI Test Event, the Short Track started in Banyoles.
In the women's race, American Haley Batten (Specialized Racing) set the pace on the first lap, stretching the group. But despite several attempts and a very high pace, the race remained with the favorites riding in a group until the last lap.

Loana Lecomte took advantage of the last meters to launch an attack with which she left all her rivals behind and managed to enter first alone. Switzerland's Nicola Koller (Ghost Factory Racing) and her teammate Anne Terpstra took the other two places on the podium.
In the men's race, Brazilian Avancini (Henrique Avancini Racing) repeated his classic strategy of trying to break the race from the start. But he was followed by a group of up to 10 riders, including Litscher (Lapierre Mavic Unity), Schwarzbauer (Canyon CLLCTV) or De Froidmont (Orbea Factory Team).
The course of the race was taking its toll on the riders and there was a nice duel in the last kilometer between Schwarzbauer and Avancini. The German champion showed his immense power and launched a spectacular sprint to beat the Brazilian and take the victory. Avancini took second place and Hatherly (Cannondale Mountain) closed the podium.
