Lazer presents the Impala KinetiCore, the first helmet with DualCore for direct and rotational impacts
Lazer has just announced the launch of its new Impala KinetiCore mountain bike helmet, a model that introduces DualCore technology and represents a significant advancement in impact management. The brand presents a direct evolution of KinetiCore, its proprietary system that has defined the last decade of innovation in cyclist safety.
Lazer launches the Impala KinetiCore with revolutionary DualCore technology
The key to this advancement lies in a dual-density EPS construction. The inner layer, which is softer, specifically addresses rotational impacts, while the outer layer, which is stiffer, absorbs direct hits. Together, they work as a single structure to provide greater safety, less weight, and more effective ventilation. According to Peter Duynslaeger, General Manager of Lazer, this approach represents “a smarter, lighter, and safer system that offers superior protection where cyclists need it most”.

The Impala KinetiCore has been tested and refined alongside professional rider Jono Jones, who was involved in the process from the early design phases. Jones explains that he has been able to take the helmet “to all types of terrains” and that it has always performed exceptionally, adding that he will use it during the Ignition MTB Festival coinciding with the launch week.

In addition to DualCore, the new helmet retains the Controlled Deformation Zones characteristic of KinetiCore, designed to reduce forces transmitted to the head while also cutting down on plastic material. Practical improvements focused on real-world use include straps made from recycled material, a magnetic buckle that is easy to manipulate with gloves, and an integrated camera mount designed to detach in the event of an impact to minimize rotational forces.
The Impala also includes a removable visor with three positions, a rear panel that prevents glasses from shifting while riding, the RECCO® rescue reflector, and an adjustable floating headband. All of this is accompanied by optimized ventilation to maintain comfort during both climbs and technical descents.
