Koretzky debuts the rainbow jersey by winning the Short Track in Lenzerheide
The French Victor Koretzky arrived at the Lenzerheide Short Track as the top favorite and did not disappoint. A single attack on the last lap was enough for him to secure his first victory in the World Cup of the year.
Victor Koretzky wins the Lenzerheide Short Track with a devastating final attack
The men's Short Track race in Lenzerheide started with two notable absences, Martin Vidaurre, who withdrew at the last minute due to illness, and Filippo Colombo, who could not start after a hard fall in training.
The start was explosive and chaotic, with Mathis Azzaro (Origine Racing Division) losing his foot from the pedal and forcing several rivals to dodge him. The incident was just a footnote, and soon the group stretched out with Luca Martin (Cannondale Factory Racing) setting the early pace.
The race, scheduled for 11 laps, quickly formed a front group with Luca Schwarzbauer (Canyon CLLCTV XCO), Martin, Adrien Boichis, Victor Koretzky, and Christopher Blevins (all three from Specialized Factory Racing), along with Luca Braidot (Wilier-Vittoria). From behind, Simon Andreassen (Orbea Fox Factory Team) closed the gap to join them.

In the first half, Schwarzbauer was very active, leading the race at a high pace but without any decisive attacks. The only hiccup was a small mistake by Blevins, who had to put his foot down and from then on began to calculate his chances of winning the overall XCC World Cup classification.
With everything to play for, the first big move came on the penultimate lap when Luca Martin launched a strong attack, but Victor Koretzky, the recent XCO world champion, responded immediately. Both fought for their chances until in the last lap Koretzky changed pace definitively. No one could follow him, except Boichis a few meters behind, and the Frenchman crossed the finish line alone to claim his first victory of the season in the World Cup.

The podium was completed by his teammate Adrien Boichis, second, and a determined Simon Andreassen, third after coming from behind.
