Kienle, one of the best triathletes in history, switches to gravel
Sebastian Kienle has practically won everything in the world of long-distance triathlon: Ironman World Champion, 70.3 World Champion, European Champion. Now, at 39 years old, the German is seeking new challenges with Scott by trading his road bike for an Addict Gravel RC to compete in some European races.
Sebastian Kienle swaps the road bike for a gravel bike
Last year, at the legendary Challeng de Roth, Sebastian Kienle ended his career as an elite triathlete at 39 with an enviable track record. However, a sports enthusiast like the German couldn't stay still for long, and Kienle seems to have found his new challenges in gravel riding.
For the remainder of 2024, Sebastian Kienle will continue to be associated with Scott, testing his form and technical skills in gravel riding by competing in some of the most important European gravel events. His motivation for gravel riding has not diminished despite a serious fall during his debut, where he collided with a car on the course and fractured several bones in his hand.

Initially, Kiele intends to take on some events in the Gravel Earth Series such as RIFT, Octopus Gravel, or FNLD Gravel.
Kienle highlights about this discipline "the gravel community seems to be a place of camaraderie even when the competitive tension is the same as what I am used to. I believe gravel riding brings out values in cyclists such as honesty, hard work, and self-sufficiency. I look forward to enjoying the rides and races in all the events I attend."
To compete in this discipline, Scott has prepared a Scott Addict Gravel RC unit for Sebastian Kienle, which the German has praised "It can handle most of my MTB routes. It's super fast, light, and looks very nice. Simply by changing tires, you can turn it from a bike for extreme use to one more focused on competition."
