Kelsey Urban joins the KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team with her sights set on the 2028 Olympics
After 3 years with Team 31, and following the team's dissolution, American Kelsey Urban will sport her new US champion jersey with the KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team starting in 2025.
Kelsey's arrival to Bart Bretjens' team comes at a sweet moment in her sporting career where she has accumulated the necessary experience to face a new Olympic cycle focused 100% on improving her performance and with the unwavering motivation of knowing that the next Olympic event will be in her home country.
Kelsey grew up sharing a love for mountain biking with her family from a young age and at 15 she joined the school MT team where she began competing at a national level. Her development as a mountain biker was rapid, and in the last 12 years she has achieved numerous outstanding successes, including national and continental titles.

Bart Brentjens, Director of the KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team, commented on this new addition to the team:
"On the road to the 2028 Olympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles, USA, it is especially exciting to start this journey with Kelsey. It would be incredible to see her compete in her first Olympic Games in 2028, especially because Kelsey was born in California."
Working towards goals together, with an athlete like Kelsey, is what motivates and excites us. We are very happy to welcome her to the team. Kelsey is passionate about the challenge of learning to push her body and mind to new limits and sharing cycling with more people.
Kelsey graduated from Stanford in 2020 and now lives in Fairfax, California, where mountain biking was born in 1973.
We see many similarities between Kelsey as a person and as a mountain biker, and the vision, goals, and ambitions of our team. For me, Kelsey represents what mountain biking is all about. We are excited to work with her!
I believe that together with Kelsey, we can make the 'American Dream' a reality."
For her part, Kelsey Urban said:
"I am excited to open a new chapter with KMC Ridley and share the knowledge they have accumulated as one of the longest-standing teams on the circuit. Consistency and integrity are qualities that I consider essential for performance, and my relationship with KMC Ridley has embodied that so far. I look forward to giving my best alongside them."
