Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-QuickStep merge should be imminent
The cycling world remains vigilant today for the definitive confirmation of the merger between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-QuickStep, which, according to sources from the Dutch squad could be certified today. In the meantime, the movements and rumors around both squads continue.
Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-QuickStep on the verge of merging
While Wout van Aert returned and won the Coppa Bernocchi, as Primoz Roglic did a few days ago in another of the Italian classics at the end of the season, the Giro dell'Emilia, the movements and rumors about the merger of Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-QuickStep do not stop. A merger that, according to the Dutch team, could be announced later today, although, for the moment, the only news is that there is no news.

Meanwhile, Soudal-QuickStep confirmed that all its riders are free to sign for whoever they want, which is a clear indication that, although there is talk of a merger, the reality is that it is a takeover by Jumbo-Visma.
The movements have not been long in coming and the first to leave the ranks of Patrick Lefevere's team has been Florian Senechal who, just a few hours ago, confirmed his signing for Arkéa-Samsic. For his part, an institution such as Julian Alaphilippe was saddened by the end of a team with as much tradition as QuickStep while ensuring that they also did not have much information and, therefore, were living a complicated situation.
The departure of Primoz Roglic, which the rider himself confirmed last Saturday, prior to the start of the Giro dell'Emilia, although without giving more details, which will have to wait for the end of his season, after Il Lombardia, is now added to the uncertainty about the fate of Remco Evenepoel, who, according to the rider's entourage, would not be willing to share awards with Jonas Vingegaard. This gives INEOS Grenadiers a chance to get their hands on a rider who has been in demand for two seasons, albeit in the most unexpected way.
