However, as has been customary in recent times, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG presents a squad that is truly intimidating, starting with a fierce Juan Ayuso who has already achieved two victories in his first three races of the year, the latest just yesterday after a dominant performance in the Trofeo Laigueglia. Now, he will try to continue his success in the Tirreno-Adriatico 2025. In any case, the Emirati team has a plan B in the legs of Adam Yates.
His brother Simon will lead the Visma-Lease a Bike in his debut in the current season. It will be interesting to see the progression of Cian Uijtdebroeks, who amazed us last season.
We must also not forget about Tom Pidcock, who excels in the challenging terrain of this race and will have a great support in David de la Cruz.
In addition to these names, there are several cyclists who could be at the front in the general classification. Names like Jai Hindley as the leader of Red Bull-BORA-hasngrohe, Mikel Landa, Giulio Ciccone, David Gaudu, Richard Carapaz, or Pello Bilbao.
We should also pay attention to the spectacle that Mathieu van der Poel could provide in the tricky final stages of the race or a Filippo Ganna who is the top favorite to wear the first blue jersey that recognizes the leader of the Tirreno-Adriatico. Similar excitement is expected from Jonathan Milan and Biniam Girmay in the mass sprints.
Route of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2025
The Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 consists of 7 stages starting, as usual in recent editions, with a completely flat time trial along the coastal town of Lido di Camaiore, 11.5 km that should not create significant differences among the favorites but will showcase the time trial specialists.
It will be followed by a 192 km stage towards Follonica with a practically flat route that should lead to the first sprint finish of the race; and a third challenging stage of significant distance, 239 km, with a demanding finish that promises an exciting spectacle.
The fourth stage will also have some climbs, but the final flat section indicates that we will likely see another mass sprint finish.
The fifth and sixth stages will be crucial for the general classification, with the first one featuring a medium mountain profile and two climbs towards the end that should shake up the race. If this is not enough to determine the classification, the next day the riders will face another demanding stage with a summit finish at Frontignano.
Only one stage will remain for the conclusion on the shores of the Adriatic Sea with the traditional final circuit in the streets of San Benedetto del Tronto where only the victory of the stage will be at stake for the fast men of the peloton.
