Jonas Vingegaard will be in La Vuelta
Jonas Vingegaard has announced that he will race La Vuelta a España. The Dane, who today wears the yellow jersey for the second time in his career on the streets of Paris, has confirmed that he will be in Barcelona on August 26 for his second Vuelta. The Jumbo-Visma rider is expected to fight alongside riders such as Evenepoel, Roglic, Ayuso and Mas.
Vingegaard already thinking about his next goal: now he also wants La Vuelta
The announcement has made headlines around the world. Vingegaard has signed an extraordinary Tour with which he has prolonged his idyll with the Gallic round and which has definitively consecrated him as one of the great cyclists of the moment. However, he did not want to wait to ride through Paris with the most coveted jersey of the calendar to declare that he will race La Vuelta a España.
The Dane explained in an interview with Marca that "I'm ready for La Vuelta this year. I will be on the start line in Barcelona". He also explained that he will share status with Roglic: "I will ride with Primoz. We will go together as leaders and I'm looking forward to it".

La Vuelta has received it with enthusiasm, as the list of big names has grown significantly. Among all the participants are several of the peloton's most sought-after front-riders. Vingegaard joins Evenepoel, Thomas, Ayuso, Mas and Roglic himself.
On the other hand, Vingegaard could count on one of his most loyal squires, American Sepp Kuss, who also told Marca that if he recovers in time from the blow of the penultimate stage he will be in La Vuelta.
Vingegaard will return to La Vuelta a España after finishing 46th in his only participation to date, in the 2020 edition. He finished 14th in the youth classification and also had a best stage result of 14th.
The announcement of the Danish rider from Jumbo-Visma is in fact one more incentive not to miss any detail of this edition of La Vuelta. Among the best legs, the most notable absence will be that of Pogacar; the Slovenian will sign up for the World Championship, although it would be quite a media coup if he also participated in La Vuelta.
