Jerome Gilloux and Sofia Wiedenroth crowned winners at the 2024 e-MTB World Championship
The e-MTB discipline entered strongly in the UCI in 2019 and it seemed like it was going to be one of the ones with the most growth in the coming years, but it has not been so. This is confirmed by a low participation, only 23 men and 9 women at the starting line, of which only 8 men and 5 women completed all laps of the World Championship circuit in time.
In the women's category, German Sofia Lena Wiedenroth took control from the start of the race with her Specialized Turbo Levo and led the race firmly to finish first in just over 1 hour. Swiss rider Nathalie Schneitter, defending champion, finished second just 1 minute behind. And the bronze went to Chile with Flo Espiñeira.

The men's race was decided with Frenchman Jerome Gilloux once again wearing the rainbow jersey for the third time in his career. We could say that Gilloux is the biggest specialist in the discipline and after winning in 2021 and 2022, he has once again prevailed, this time ahead of the very strong Martin Vidaurre. The Chilean Vidaurre was competing in e-MTB for the first time and had a great finish to the race, but it was not enough to win and he finished almost half a minute behind Gilloux to take the silver medal. The bronze went to Frenchman Hugo Pigeon who crossed the finish line 45 seconds after his compatriot.
