Jenny Rissveds wins the Lenzerheide 2025 Short Track with a lightning attack
Just one week after the World Cup, the elite Short Track was held at the XCC/XCO World Cup in Lenzerheide. A very explosive race that Jenny Rissveds resolved with a devastating final attack to take the victory.
Jenny Rissveds conquers the Short Track in Lenzerheide with a devastating attack in the last lap
The great anticipation before the women's Short Track race in Lenzerheide was marked by the debut of the rainbow jersey of Alessandra Keller, the reigning world champion, and by the history of Jenny Rissveds, winner of the last three editions held at this venue. Both started as top favorites, with the question of whether anyone could break that dominance.
From the start, Martina Berta (Origine) and Jennifer Jackson (Orbea) set the most explosive pace, but when they reached the first climb, it was Jenny Rissveds (Canyon CLLCTV XCO), the current European champion, who took the lead. Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing) and Ronja Blöchlinger (Liv Factory Racing) positioned themselves behind her, forming a trio that would soon establish itself at the front.
The race, set at 9 laps, intensified from the second lap. Rissveds' pace broke the peloton and at the front, the names were repeated: Keller, Richards, Blöchlinger, and the Swedish rider herself. In the fifth lap, that quartet opened a gap with the rest, although a small mistake by Keller, momentarily losing her pedal, left her a few seconds behind.

The final selection came in the penultimate lap. Evie Richards launched an explosive attack to which only Rissveds responded. Together they headed towards the finish line, but the Swedish rider had one more move up her sleeve. In the last lap, she increased the intensity and pulled away solo to claim her fourth consecutive victory in Lenzerheide. Richards, despite her effort, had to settle for second place but retains the leader's jersey in the overall Short Track standings. The podium was completed by a solid Ronja Blöchlinger, increasingly established in the elite.
