Jenny Rissveds dominates in Les Gets and puts fear ahead of the World Championships
The Swedish Jenny Rissveds (Canyon CLLCTV XCO) offered this Sunday in Les Gets a true performance to assert her authority in the XCO World Cup race.
Just two weeks after winning the European titles in XCC and XCO, and after winning on Friday in the Short Track under the rain, the Scandinavian champion confirmed her excellent form less than fifteen days before the World Championships in Crans Montana.
Rissveds breaks away and wins the race from the start
The start was clean and from the first moment Rissveds took the lead. She set a very high pace that quickly separated the group of favorites. Five minutes into the race, she was already riding with a six-second lead over Martina Berta (Origine), while riders like Samara Maxwell (Decathlon Ford Racing Team) or Alessandra Keller (Thömus Maxon) tried not to lose her trail.
The world champion, Puck Pieterse, was soon out of the fight and ended up having a tough day in the back positions. Ahead, Rissveds increased her lead lap after lap despite some minor concentration lapses and even minor mechanical issues that did not affect her dominance.

Is the season getting long for Van Aert?
The excitement was in the chasing group. First, Rebecca Henderson (Orbea Fox) led the group in pursuit of the Swedish rider. Later, the overall leader Samara Maxwell managed to recover from a fall and, with a devastating change of pace, selected along with Keller the battle for the second position.
In the last lap, Maxwell launched an early attack, but a late puncture thwarted her strategy.
Jenny Rissvedss crossed the finish line first, Alessandra Keller was second, and Maxwell third.

A warning for Crans Montana
With this victory, Jenny Rissveds completes a double in Les Gets (XCC and XCO) and sends a clear warning to her rivals: she arrives at the World Championships in exceptional form. Maxwell, despite the fall and puncture, solidly defended the World Cup leader's jersey, and Keller remains one of the most consistent riders of the year.
The next big event will be the XCO World Championships in Crans Montana (September 14), where everything points to the Swedish rider starting as one of the top favorites for the rainbow jersey.
