The 2026 Les Gets XCO World Cup left two Elite races with maximum equality and victories decided in the final moments, which promises a very exciting World Championship for this week. Sina Frei and Adrien Boichis were the big winners on Sunday, in a day also marked by the return of Mathieu van der Poel to XCO.

Two races to watch again: the best of XCO in Les Gets

Les Gets once again offered a great spectacle just before the World Championship in Val di Sole. Frei surpassed Jenny Rissveds by just 2 seconds in the women's race, while Boichis had to beat Van der Poel in a final head-to-head to complete, like the Swiss, a perfect weekend after also winning the Short Track.

In the women's race, Sina Frei once again demonstrated her great form after also winning the Short Track on Friday. The Swiss rider reached the last lap alongside Jenny Rissveds and Savilia Blunk, but ended up setting her pace to take the victory.

Rissveds crossed the finish line just 2 seconds later, while Blunk completed the podium 30 seconds behind. Notably, Samara Maxwell made a strong comeback to finish sixth, and Puck Pieterse finished eighth after starting from 33rd position.

Boichis wins the duel with Van der Poel

The men's race featured the return of Mathieu van der Poel to XCO, but it was Adrien Boichis who ultimately took the victory. Both riders reached the last lap together after a race in which the front group remained very compact for much of the eight laps.

Boichis finally managed to open a few meters on Van der Poel in the final part and won with a 7-second lead over the Dutchman. Martin Vidaurre completed the podium 32 seconds behind.

Now mountain biking heads towards the big event of the year that will take place this week with the World Championship in Val di Sole.
