Presented the Hope Lotus for the Paris Olympics, one of the most sophisticated bikes in the world
Undoubtedly, it is the most spectacular and advanced bike that can be seen on the boards of the velodrome. The Hope HB.T from the British Cycling track Olympic team has just been presented in its final version that will be used by British cyclists in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, a machine that leaves no one indifferent.
Hope and Lotus join forces again to manufacture the most advanced track bike in the world
The latest version of the Hope HB.T, the characteristic track bike used by the British selection in this discipline, has now been unveiled, and it is one of the reasons why they continue to be a team to be reckoned with in the world of track cycling.
The new version of the Hope HB.T, in which they have once again collaborated closely with Lotus, maintains the main features of the bike that has been surprising fans of track cycling for several years, incorporating some of the innovations we saw about a year ago when they began to be incorporated to be validated for use in the Olympic Games in Paris.

These main features include their characteristic seat stays and fork legs, the result of collaboration with Lotus, which has contributed all its aerodynamic knowledge, widening and moving them as far away as possible from the wheel to minimize interference with the turbulence it generates.
A frame that is already available for sale on the Hope website, as required by track cycling rules for Olympic competition to allow its use, in three different configurations, adapted to speed competitions, Omnium, and, above all, Pursuit, the flagship event of the Olympic program that for British Cycling is almost a matter of state.
All of them have the modest price of 25,000 pounds, excluding VAT, approximately around 29,000 euros, to which an additional 2,000 pounds must be added to incorporate one of the novelties of this new version, the spectacular split seat post made through 3D printing of titanium, for which Hope has added Renishaw as a collaborator alongside Lotus, a renowned expert in additive manufacturing. Apart from the seat post, Renishaw has also contributed new cranks made of titanium using the same methodology.
Although the general lines seem to be the same as the existing bike, the profiles of the fork, handlebar, and seat stays have been adjusted to achieve greater aerodynamic efficiency. The most striking feature is the serrated leading edge that has been added to the fork. These aerodynamic improvements are complemented by those provided by its unique seat post, which being split allows for free airflow in that area by combining the interaction of the seat post with the cyclist's legs, leaving the center free.
Renishaw's involvement in the development has also been crucial here, as with its expertise in 3D printing, it has made it possible to create prototypes quickly and more affordably for the validation of different aerodynamic solutions in the wind tunnel, undoubtedly taking this incredible Hope HB.T to another level of performance.
