Has the new Cannondale CAAD14 been leaked?
It had been 6 years since Cannondale last updated its renowned aluminum CAAD frame, which had remained stagnant at version 13. Now, following the leak on social media of the images you can see alongside these lines, everything points to a new version, completely renewed and incorporating all the current technologies, Cannondale demonstrates that aluminum is still very much alive.

Cannondale continues to evolve the frames that forged its fame
Talking about CAAD means discussing some of the best aluminum bike frames ever produced, with which Cannondale earned its status as a top brand thanks to a meticulous artisanal manufacturing process that, in its day, placed these frames among the most efficient on the market.
Currently, in the carbon era, Cannondale's CAAD frames have been relegated to the mid-range. However, the brand has never stopped paying attention to them and has been evolving them from time to time to continue offering affordable bikes without the need to give up many of the technologies developed for their SuperSix, in addition to a dynamic behavior similar to that of their competition bikes.

Now, the new CAAD14 generation could be just around the corner if we consider the leaked renders on social media, which appear to be typical catalog images. While these images do not offer too much detail, they do allow us to infer many of the innovations of these bikes.

Starting with the lines of the frame itself, which abandon the low-stay design that tried to emulate the SuperSix to return to a classic design of the rear triangle. The hydroforming of the diagonal and top tubes is maintained, adopting a rectangular section at the ends to provide a larger surface for welding, in addition to allowing for precise adjustment of the desired stiffness, especially evident at the junction with the head tube where the section expands to the maximum to embrace it firmly. A return to a classic design that also implies the use of a conventional round-section seat post.
And, as it could not be otherwise, this bike will feature the omnipresent, and a nightmare for mechanics, integrated hoses and cables running from end to end through the head tube, seeking completely clean lines. Among the current technological solutions, we can also see how the increasingly common UDH dropout has been adopted. It is worth noting that the geometry of this new bike, also leaked, points to dimensions that would indicate a clearly sporty orientation, although with concessions to a less demanding rider position than in competition models.

Although this is a bike that Cannondale targets at the mid-range, among the published renders, there is a version with high-profile wheels, an integrated carbon handlebar, and a SRAM Force single chainring group, which could be an authentically top-of-the-line version, highly atypical for a build on an aluminum frame.
In any case, we must not forget that this is a leak, nothing official, so we will have to wait for confirmation from Cannondale to know for sure if the new CAAD14 is really coming and, if so, to discover in detail all the innovations that these thoroughbreds of aluminum frames will receive.
