Hatherly wins with an amazing performance in Nino Schurter's farewell
South African Alan Hatherly imposed himself with authority in the Lenzerheide XCO. A race marked by Nino Schurter's farewell from the World Cup. Charlie Aldridge was second and young Frenchman Adrien Boichis completed the podium.
Alan Hatherly dominates the Lenzerheide XCO World Cup
South African Alan Hatherly confirmed his world champion status with a true exhibition in the Lenzerheide XCO, winning solo after dominating much of the eight laps of the course. The Giant Factory Off-Road Team rider even overcame a mechanical problem in the final part, but kept calm and crossed the finish line first.

Behind, the excitement shifted to the battle for the podium. British Charlie Aldridge (Cannondale Factory Racing) launched an attack on the last lap to drop his rivals and secure the second position 32 seconds behind the winner. Young Frenchman Adrien Boichis (Specialized Factory Racing) once again showed his huge potential by claiming the third place, 39 seconds behind.

The race was marked from the start by a strong pace that stretched the main group and left several favorites out of contention. Victor Koretzky, winner of Friday's Short Track, derailed his rear wheel while leading the race and eventually had to retire. Also, Chris Blevins couldn't aim for the podium after a puncture in the first half of the race.
Nino Schurter bids farewell to the XCO World Cup
The Lenzerheide event was also filled with emotion due to Nino Schurter's farewell. The Swiss competed in the last World Cup of his career surrounded by a devoted crowd that cheered him on at every turn. Although he was close to the Top 20 throughout the race, he enjoyed his farewell with a final lap dedicated to greeting the audience and enjoying until the finish line.
