Gold Edition forks and new cartridges, this is how FOX celebrates its anniversary
In 2024 FOX is celebrating its anniversary, 50 years since Bob Fox developed his first suspension and the brand has decided to pay tribute with a new generation of Grip cartridges and a very limited edition of completely gold FOX forks, with the distinctive Kashima tone.
FOX is celebrating its anniversary and is celebrating with its spectacular Gold Limited Edition series
In 1974 Bob Fox developed the first Fox Air Shox and to commemorate the 50 years of that milestone FOX has announced a spectacular aesthetic for the forks in its 2025 collection.
In this 50th anniversary edition, the fork stanchions and bars feature the same golden color of the characteristic Kashima finish of Fox. But if you are already imagining how it would look on your mountain bike, you should know that its production will be very limited.

New generation of FOX Grip cartridges
The cartridge of a fork is the heart of the front suspension on any mountain bike and FOX has taken advantage of this 50th anniversary to present the most advanced generation of its Grip cartridge. The Grip X2 for the best downhill performance, the Grip X to optimize traction in any condition, and the Grip SL, the lightest XC cartridge in the FOX catalog.
New FOX Grip SL: ready to race
The new FOX Grip SL cartridge is the lightest in its catalog and has been developed to optimize its performance in XCO and XCM competitions. It remains at 100mm of travel with three positions and in addition to reducing its weight the brand ensures that it has improved its behavior for the increasingly technical World Cup courses.
In endurance disciplines such as XCO and XCM, the lockout position on a fork must be as firm and rigid as possible. Something that the new Grip SL has optimized while maintaining a smooth oscillation to face bumps in this position and reduce cyclist fatigue. In the open or mid position, the Grip SL offers a smooth start of travel with high pedaling efficiency.
The new Grip SL cartridge will be available in the 32 TC, 32 SC, and 34SC forks.
FOX Grip X2 2025
To develop the new version of the Grip X2, FOX was inspired by the level of configuration found in motocross and supercross suspensions. Compared to the award-winning Grip 2, which had a 20mm piston diameter and 7 washers, the new FOX Grip X2 cartridge has increased its adjustment capacity by increasing the piston diameter to 24mm with 23 washers.
FOX ensures that the Grip X2 is the most configurable and smooth downhill cartridge created by the brand to date. This translates into greater cornering traction that will offer the confidence needed to go faster while reducing biker fatigue.
This cartridge will be available in FOX 36, 38, 40 forks, and only in the 34 that come standard on some mountain bike models.
FOX Grip X
The new Grip X cartridge also allows for adjustment of high and low-speed compression, but is 120g lighter than the X2 and simply turning its adjustment dial to the last click activates the firm mode before a climb.
Developed to have maximum traction both uphill and downhill, the Grip X regulator closes high and low-speed compression simultaneously, allowing for a firm platform and more efficient power transfer to the pedals on climbs and flats. To have maximum confidence on descents, simply return the high-speed regulator to the desired position.
The FOX Grip X will be available for FOX 34, 36, 38, and 40 forks.
You can find further information about these and other models on the official Fox Factory website.
