The last is comfortable without being excessively wide, and it has subtle but key details such as the height of the shaft, a bit higher than normal to protect the ankle area. The fit is done quickly and precisely thanks to the BOA® L6 system, which allows for a progressive and firm closure even with gloves on.

The instep includes strategic reinforcements in the ankle and forefoot area, providing extra security in situations where the shoe may rub against rocks or branches.

Sole and behavior on the bike (and off it)

One of the most remarkable points is the sole. The Sticki Rubber compound provides excellent grip when walking, which is essential on routes where not everything is climbed on the bike. The cleat area is recessed, allowing for a certain natural walking and avoiding slips on rocks or loose terrain.

On the bike, its stiffness index of 7 allows for good power transfer to the pedal, maintaining minimal flexion in the toe area to not compromise comfort when walking or moving in technical sections.

Protection and materials

The SHR-Alp EVO BOA are made with resistant and lightweight materials. The upper is composed of PU (polyurethane) and PES (polyester), achieving a good balance between lightness and protection. The sole, on the other hand, combines nitrile rubber, EVA, fiberglass, and polyamide for effective traction and durability.

They are shoes designed to last, with good ventilation and reinforcements where they are most needed. Although they are not waterproof, they do offer protection against splashes and mud.
