FOX 36 and 36 SL 2025: lightness and stiffness in a new dimension
The new FOX 36 and FOX 36 SL 2025 arrive in the brand's catalog to meet the specific demands of All-Mountain and Trail riding, focusing on offering superior performance with less weight and more torsional stiffness.
The new FOX 36 and 36 SL forks open the future of All-Mountain and Trail riding
The new FOX 36 features a redesigned chassis with a significant 20% increase in torsional stiffness compared to the previous model, thanks to a generative design in the fork arch. This increase in stiffness places the FOX 36 very close to the stiffness offered by its larger sister, the FOX 38, but maintaining a substantial weight advantage, being 275 grams lighter. This significantly improves precision and responsiveness in fast and technical descents.
The new FOX 36 SL is presented as the lightest version ever created in the 36 family, specifically aimed at Trail riding with travel ranges from 120 to 140 mm. At only 1,755 grams, the 36 SL offers a 20% improvement in torsional stiffness compared to the FOX 34, achieving an exceptional balance between lightness and control on technical terrain.

Both versions introduce a redesigned FLOAT air shaft that adapts to the bending loads generated during impacts, decoupling the upper tube from the shaft. This innovation allows for a smoother and more consistent compression, particularly noticeable under high loads or high speeds.
Furthermore, the implementation of optimized internal lubrication channels significantly contributes to reducing friction. By moving these channels inside the fork, they avoid alignment with longitudinal loads, minimizing additional friction and improving sensitivity to small impacts. Specifically, the FOX 36 has an increased bushing overlap by 30 mm compared to its predecessor, while the FOX 36 SL increases this distance by 20 mm compared to the FOX 34, enhancing ride smoothness and longitudinal stability.
Both forks are equipped with the new GRIP X cartridge, which offers downhill performance comparable to the GRIP X2 but with the advantage of lower weight, a simpler configuration, and an easily accessible firm mode, optimizing efficiency on climbs and mixed terrain.
The new low-profile bleeders allow for easy release of accumulated pressure while maintaining visual elegance. Additionally, a removable top cap simplifies the installation of spacers, and the redesigned mudguard now attaches to the bridge for a cleaner aesthetic and increased durability.
