For Schwalbe, sustainability is not a goal, it is an attitude
Schwalbe has published its new CSR Magazine 2024/2025, a project that marks a change in the way it communicates its commitment to sustainability. After three years of producing traditional corporate reports, the German company is now opting for a closer and more emotional format, in which sustainability is conveyed through real stories, experiences, and verifiable data.
Schwalbe revolutionizes its sustainable communication with the new CSR Magazine 2024/2025
Frank Bohle, CEO of Schwalbe, summarizes it clearly: “Sustainability is not a chapter in our annual report. It is part of our way of thinking every day, in all areas. It is not a goal that is reached and marked as completed, but an attitude that guides our actions permanently.”
The new format is divided into two main sections. The first, Inspiration, includes authentic stories from day to day in the company, showing how sustainability is integrated into its corporate culture. The second, Facts & Figures, provides the most relevant data following the international GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards, ensuring transparency and informational rigor. Additionally, the reference period is extended to the first half of 2025 to provide a more current snapshot of the project's evolution.
Among the most notable milestones in the report, Schwalbe emphasizes that its production plant in Vietnam now operates on 100% renewable electricity, which has allowed for a reduction of on-site emissions by more than two-thirds.
The tire and tube recycling system continues to grow: to date, 1.8 million tires and 15 million tubes have been reintegrated into the production cycle.

Another of the most significant advances is the increase to 30% in the volume of tires made with fair trade natural rubber. This material comes from Indonesian plantations managed under a “naturalized jungle” model, which protects biodiversity against the usual monoculture practices in the industry.
According to Schwalbe, the combination of recycled, renewable, and fairly sourced materials has prevented the emission of 5,538 tons of CO2 equivalent since 2018, a figure that reinforces its leadership in sustainable innovation within the cycling sector.
With this publication, Schwalbe not only seeks to inform but to inspire. The new CSR Magazine is an invitation to understand that sustainability is not a department, but a way of thinking, producing, and pedaling towards the future.
