Ferreira finishes in Bahia and deprives Valero of the final victory in an epic Brasil Ride
The Brasil Ride Bahia 2025 came to an end today after a week that will go down in history for its extreme conditions. Rain and mud once again took center stage on the final day, closing an edition marked by toughness and the suspension of two complete stages due to bad weather.

With 48 km and 506 meters of positive elevation gain, the sixth and final stage was far from a mere formality. Brazilian Alex Malacarne (Specialized Racing BR) once again asserted his authority, securing his second victory, closely followed by his compatriot Gustavo Xavier (Specialized Racing BR) and with Spanish rider Martí Calonja (Cannondale-ISB Sport) completing the day's podium.
However, the real excitement unfolded a few meters back, where Portuguese rider Tiago Ferreira (Vouzela-BH TF) managed to turn the overall classification around after crossing the finish line ahead of the then-leader David Valero (BH Coloma Team). Ferreira needed to recover nine seconds and managed to do so with flying colors, securing the final victory by a margin of 14 seconds.

“Brasil Ride 2025, the most demanding, toughest, and most challenging race in recent times. Since December 2024, when we planned to come to Bahia, we knew we wanted to fight for the overall victory. Things don't always go as planned, but this time they did. We have been consistent, and having David by my side made everything easier. His calmness and way of reading the race are impressive. Ending with this victory makes me very happy,” wrote Tiago Ferreira on his social media after achieving his second victory at the Brasil Ride.
David Valero himself responded shortly after: “It has been a pleasure to be part of this adventure. For me, it has been an incredible year, I have learned a lot, and we have made a great team. Thank you for everything!”
