Evenepoel destroys all his rivals to win the Time Trial World Championship for the third consecutive time
Remco Evenepoel continues to write golden chapters in the history of cycling. The Belgian was crowned world time trial champion in Kigali, thus achieving his third consecutive title in the discipline.
Remco Evenepoel wins his third consecutive World Time Trial Championship
Evenepoel has once again been crowned Time Trial World Champion with an indisputable display in the 40.6 kilometers of the Rwandan route. He was the only one capable of going under 50 minutes and with this display, Evenepoel, who had already won in 2023 and 2024, consolidates his dominance in the discipline and places himself among the greatest.
From the first intermediate point, it was clear that Evenepoel was in another dimension. He outpaced his rivals by 44 seconds and that lead only grew until the finish line. In his ride, he even managed to catch Tadej Poga?ar, who had started two and a half minutes earlier, an unusual image that reflected the gap between them on this day.

The second place went to Jay Vine. The Australian had shone in the Vuelta a España and confirmed that he is one of the best time trial specialists in the world.
The big surprise came with Ilan Van Wilder. The Belgian made his debut in an elite time trial World Championship and did so with an unexpected bronze. His performance was solid from start to finish and he resisted Poga?ar's push in the final kilometers.
Pogacar, who was celebrating his 27th birthday today, did not have his best day in the race and finished fourth, just eight seconds off the podium.
With three consecutive golds and an Olympic gold already in his record, Evenepoel reaffirms his status as an absolute specialist in a discipline he dominates with an iron hand.
