End of an era: 24 years later, Quick-Step will disappear from the team's name in 2027
Professional cycling is preparing to say goodbye to one of the most recognizable names in the peloton of the last decades. Quick-Step will no longer be part of the official team name starting next season and the current structure Soudal Quick-Step will compete in 2027 under the name Soudal Safety Jogger.
The historic name Quick-Step will disappear from the WorldTour peloton in 2027
The change will end a 24-year association of Quick-Step as the main sponsor of the team. The laminate flooring company has been present in the team's name since Patrick Lefevere launched the structure in 2003, although its relationship with professional cycling began even earlier, in 1999, as a co-sponsor of the historic Mapei.
However, Quick-Step's departure from the official name will not mean a complete break. The brand will remain linked to the team and will maintain a prominent presence on the jersey, at least until the end of 2030.
Safety Jogger increases its commitment to cycling
Quick-Step's place as the main co-sponsor will be taken by Safety Jogger, a Belgian company specialized in safety footwear, work clothing, and personal protective equipment.

The company, based in Oudenaarde, already had a close relationship with the structure and at the beginning of 2026 extended its agreement until the end of 2030. It is now confirmed that, starting next season, it will take a further step to share the naming rights with Soudal.
In this way, the name Soudal Safety Jogger will start to appear in the WorldTour peloton from 2027.
Tom Gybels, CEO of Safety Jogger, sees this change as the culmination of the relationship built over the last few years with the team.
“From 2027 we will take our commitment to an even higher level, strengthening our partnerships in the field of personal protective equipment, the growth of our brand, and our presence on the global cycling stage,” he explained.

The CEO of the formation, Jurgen Foré, also highlighted the common points existing between both organizations and described the new agreement as a logical evolution of their collaboration.
“Although we both proudly share roots in Flanders, we have built a global presence thanks to our commitment to innovation and excellence. This new main co-sponsorship is the natural evolution of a very successful relationship and we are excited to take our collaboration to the next level as we pursue ambitious global goals together,” Foré pointed out.
The name change will be another of the major transformations that the historic Belgian structure will face in 2027. Merida is also set to replace Specialized as the team's bike supplier, ending another of the longest and most recognizable partnerships in professional cycling.
