DJI unleashes the Avinox motor up to 1,000 W without limits in its latest firmware update
The DJI Avinox system arrived just a few months ago in the market and is causing a real revolution in the eMTB segment. Due to its power and performance, it has suddenly positioned itself as a reference and has just received a firmware update that increases the power of its motor to 1,000 watts in Turbo mode, with no time limit, making it the most powerful e-bike motor of 2025 to date.
DJI increases the power of the Avinox motor to 1,000 W amid regulatory controversy in the EU
Until now, the DJI Avinox offered 1000 W of power only for 30 seconds in Boost mode. It was a system for occasional push for the steepest slopes. But now, the Chinese manufacturer has unleashed the full potential of its motor with a firmware update that allows you to enjoy the 1000 W of power in Turbo mode without time limit.
The power improvement is part of version 1.1.0 of the DJI app, released on April 26, and with which they intend to collect user feedback to launch a new update with more features in May.

In addition to the power increase, the recent update includes other improvements such as advanced options to increase battery life or new functions and ways to view data on the system display.
This update contrasts with the current regulatory moment that the industry is experiencing in Europe, where there is a debate about the option of limiting the e-bike market to a maximum of 750 W. From there, and if the proposed law goes ahead, bikes with higher power could have to be registered, have a circulation permit, etc.
Although DJI stated a few days ago that they are monitoring the development of the new regulations and promise to comply with them and provide coverage to their customers in case of changes, their motors may have to be limited. This move seems to be in line with DJI's strategy so far of offering powerful motors. Something that European manufacturers have been avoiding for some time precisely to prevent what is now being debated in the new law and not having to force electric bikes to be registered.
