DJI enters the cycling world with its new eBikes brand Amflow and its own Avinox Drive System motor
DJI debuts in cycling with the launch of the electric Amflow PL. The bike is equipped with the Avinox Drive System motor, developed by the same brand with a power of 105 Nm and powered by an 800 Wh battery. The announcement comes within the framework of Eurobike 2024, it weighs 19.2 kg and the price at which it will be put up for sale is unknown.
DJI makes its debut in cycling: first eBike from its own brand and first motor
Electric bikes have been thriving for a while, occupying a large market share. DJI - a reputable brand of civilian drones and camera technology created in 2006 - understood that the leap into cycling could be another step in its particular business growth and in 2023 founded its own brand of bicycles, named Amflow. However, after a few months of waiting, and with the opportunity that an event like Eurobike offers, they have now materialized that commitment.
The Amflow PL is a mountain electric bike that focuses its attributes on the capabilities of the motor unit and the battery. The manufacturer has focused its goals on achieving a bike capable of combining power, range, performance, and an elegant aesthetic.

The carbon frame weighs 2.27 kg, while the total assembly is 19.2 kg. The fork -FOX 36 Performance or FOX 36 Factory, depending on the model- offers a travel of 160 mm.
The motor -which goes by the name Avinox Drive System- is the main attraction of the Amflow PL and is itself a milestone as the brand's first model. It is a power-size ratio leader in the industry, according to DJI, with a maximum power of 850 W, 105 Nm, and a weight of 2.52 kg.
The high-strength polymer material inside the motor effectively suppresses noise during high-speed gearbox operation. Among the assistance modes, the Auto -which adapts in real-time according to the terrain conditions and the riding position- and the Boost -with 1000 W and 120 Nm- stand out.
The Amflow PL has two battery options -600 Wh and 800 Wh that, with the appropriate charger, can be filled with energy in about an hour and a half.
Regarding the geometry, DJI has opted for a 64.5° head tube angle, a 77° effective seat tube angle, 445 mm chainstays, 628 mm stack, and 475 mm reach. An important aspect is that through a flip chip adjustment, the platform can be made compatible for a mullet configuration, if the rider prefers.
The rear suspension has a travel of 150 mm, developed in collaboration with Fox and provides "a sensitive response to the initial impact to effectively filter out mild vibrations," as well as "powerful support on the final impact to prevent bottoming out during continuous high-speed impacts or steep descents."
On the other hand, the Avinox Drive System comes with a 2-inch full-color OLED control screen where the rider can connect their phone through the Avinox app to access a range of functions; including bike security, recording and sharing data, or assistance parameter settings.
All models come with several extras: torque wrench, air pump for shock absorber, and front and rear lights.
