Where and how to follow the Grand Prix Sven Nys de Baal
It has already become a classic within the international cyclocross circuit. The New Year's celebration is accompanied by the first major competition of the year: the GP Sven Nys de Baal, the town where the six-time winner of the World Cup resides, considered one of the best specialists in history. It is the fifth scoring round of the X2O Trophy and will feature the main attraction of the world champion, Mathieu van der Poel.
Where and how to follow the Grand Prix Sven Nys de Baal
Like the rest of the major international cyclocross tournaments (World Cup, Superprestige, and Exact Cross), the different rounds of the X2O Trophy also have television coverage in Spain thanks to Eurosport. On this occasion, the thematic channel will offer the two elite races live through its second channel, although MAX subscribers and their sports extension will be able to enjoy the entire event without ads through the digital application.
The preferred option, although the most complicated, is to start 2025 by witnessing a great cyclocross race live in Flemish territory. To do this, in addition to traveling to Baal, you would have to purchase a ticket costing between 16€ and 18€ depending on whether you buy it in advance or get it at the ticket office on the day of the competition.

This is how the X2O Badkamers Trophy standings arrive
The main peculiarity of the X2O Badkamers Trophy is that its general classification is not based on points, but, like a stage race, it is configured by adding up the time spent in the different rounds of the competition. For this, the times of the eight races of the trophy are taken into account, adding a delay of 5 minutes for each absence and the possibility of subtracting bonuses awarded in intermediate sprints located at the end of the first lap of each competition.
A different format in cyclocross and that currently leaves Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal) at the top of the men's elite general classification with a 41" advantage over Lars van der Haar (Baloise Trek Lions) and 2'12" over his teammate Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal). In the women's category, Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek Lions) leads the classification with a comfortable 4'40" lead over Annemarie Worst (Cyclocross Reds).
Sixth stop on Mathieu van der Poel's CX calendar
Completely ruled out for the general fight, the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel will once again start as the main attraction and top favorite, almost the only one, for this Grand Prix Sven Nys de Baal. The Alpecin-Deceuninck rider will start in his sixth race of the season with the endorsement of not knowing defeat in the previous five. An immaculate record that he hopes to extend in a competition he has already won five times, the last time beating an absent Wout van Aert by almost 2 minutes.
