Van der Poel debuts new kit in honor of his grandfather Poulidor
As he did in 2019, Mathieu van der Poel and his team Alpecin-Deceuninck have wanted to pay tribute to Raymond Poulidor, grandfather of the Dutch champion and legend of French cycling, with a commemorative kit that they will wear during the rest day of the Tour de France 2025.

Under the motto "Merci Pou Pou," the Belgian team has presented a retro-inspired kit that recovers one of the iconic designs that Poulidor wore in competition. A nostalgic nod that connects two generations of cyclists united by talent and passion for this sport. The garment will be available for sale on the manufacturer Kalas' website, as it did in its first edition.

Raymond Poulidor, affectionately nicknamed "Pou Pou," was one of the most beloved riders by the French public, despite never wearing the yellow jersey. His charisma and consistency led him to achieve eight podiums in the Tour de France and a total of 189 victories throughout his professional career. Deceased in 2019, Poulidor witnessed the meteoric rise of his grandson, whom he did not hesitate to publicly praise on several occasions.

This new tribute adds to the one they already made in the year of Poulidor's death, when Van der Poel debuted at the Tour wearing another special kit with the classic colors of his grandfather. In the team's words, this tribute is a way to "keep alive the legacy of a legend that continues to inspire new generations."
