David Valero concludes his time with the BH Coloma Team after a historic farewell
David Valero has put an end to one of the most successful alliances in Spanish mountain biking. The XXIV Mountain Bike March of La Nucía served this weekend as the stage for his official farewell from BH Bikes and the BH Coloma Team, an emotional goodbye that brought together fans, families, and young cyclists who wanted to accompany the Granadian in his last act under the team's colors.
David Valero leaves BH and closes a historic chapter for Spanish mountain biking
Although the march was not competitive, the event turned into a tribute to one of the most influential riders in modern MTB. Valero shared kilometers, photos, and conversations with dozens of followers before confirming that his time with Carlos Coloma's structure had come to an end. A moment full of symbolism for a project and a cyclist that have grown hand in hand over the last few years.

David Valero signed with BH in December 2020 and since then has achieved a collection of results that is hard to match. In addition to establishing himself as one of the big names in international XCO, the rider has signed a record that has marked an era:
- Olympic bronze in Tokyo 2020
- World XCO runner-up in Les Gets 2022
- Victory in the XCO World Cup in Snowshoe 2022
- Multiple podiums in World Cups (Vallnord, Mont-Sainte-Anne, Nové M?sto…)
- Number 1 in the UCI ranking in 2022
- Ten titles of XCO Champion of Spain
- Three Championships of Spain in XCC
- Silver in the European XCM 2024
- Bronze in the XCM World Championship 2024

Beyond the numbers, his consistency, his way of competing, and his commitment to work have been key pillars in consolidating the sports and structural growth of the BH Coloma Team.

Valero wanted to say goodbye with a message of absolute gratitude: “I only have words of thanks for BH Bikes and for the BH Coloma Team. With them, I have lived some of the most important moments of my career, from the Olympic podium to my victory in Snowshoe. I take with me a stage full of learning, friendship, and passion for this sport.”
Carlos Coloma, team manager, emphasized the impact of the Granadian both inside and outside of competition: “David has been a reference both on and off the bike. His work ethic, humility, and way of competing have elevated this structure and inspired many young people. We wish him the best in the new stage he is starting.”
From BH Bikes, Álvaro Olasolo also wanted to acknowledge his legacy: “David has taken our bikes to the highest level of MTB. The values he conveys have always matched the identity of BH. He has been an example of consistency, closeness, and passion for cycling.”
Valero's farewell marks the end of an extraordinary chapter for national MTB. His growth alongside the BH Coloma Team has left a deep mark both in international competition and at the grassroots level of Spanish cycling, where his figure has served as inspiration for a new generation of riders.
The departure of the Granadian now opens a new scenario: the team will have to reconfigure itself to maintain its upward projection and Valero will face a stage that, pending official confirmation about his destination, could be with another national team and is full of expectations.
