Columbus launches its first integrated handlebars and expands its range of carbon components

Columbus has presented a significant expansion of its carbon component catalog with the launch of its first integrated handlebars, as well as three new forks designed for road, allroad, and gravel. This is one of the largest renewals of the historic Italian brand in recent years and represents a further step in its goal of offering a complete system of components for high-performance bicycles.

With over a century of history linked to the manufacturing of tubes and frames, Columbus began working with carbon fiber in the early 2000s, initially developing forks and later structural components for frames. Now, that experience is translated into a range that incorporates integrated handlebar and stem solutions for the first time.

Victor Luis, president of Columbus, explains that this new generation of components maintains the historical philosophy of the company: “For over a century, Columbus has built its reputation by driving innovation in materials and engineering at the heart of cycling. The introduction of our first fully integrated cockpits represents a natural evolution of the range, offering greater precision and integration for cyclists seeking maximum performance without sacrificing design”.

The main novelty of the collection is three new integrated handlebar and stem sets, each developed for a specific discipline.

The Spirit Racing Integrated Cockpit is designed for road bikes and aims to combine aerodynamics, ergonomics, and lightness in a single set.

The top adopts an optimized wing profile to improve aerodynamic efficiency, while the drops incorporate a design called “3 Finger Zone,” which offers a specific support area to improve grip when riding in a low position. Columbus also opts for a compact geometry that facilitates the transition between different hand positions.

Futura Allroad Integrated Cockpit

The Futura Allroad Integrated Cockpit has been developed for allroad bikes and for those who alternate between road and fast gravel tracks.

Its geometry is especially compact, with a reach of 70 mm and a drop of 120 mm, seeking a more accessible position and greater control. Additionally, the handlebar incorporates a specific recess in the upper area that allows the tape to wrap continuously to the center, improving both the aesthetic finish and grip.

The third launch is the Cento Gravel Integrated Cockpit, developed specifically for gravel. It features a very compact geometry combined with a wider flare to increase control over uneven terrain. Columbus highlights that its reduced reach and shallow drop aim to provide a more comfortable position and precise handling off the asphalt.

Three new carbon forks

Along with the handlebars, Columbus introduces three new forks made from T700s and HFM carbon fiber, each intended for different uses.

Futura Fast Gravel

The Futura Fast Gravel is aimed at competitive gravel and has been designed prioritizing stiffness and aerodynamic efficiency. To achieve this, it eliminates any non-essential elements, dispensing with eyelets for accessories or fender mounts to maximize performance. Despite this, it maintains space for tires up to 700x50 mm.

Futura Divide

The Futura Divide is intended for bikepacking and long-distance adventure routes. Its main innovation is the Multi-Rake system, which allows modifying the fork's offset based on the wheel diameter or the load carried. It also incorporates eyelets for bags and racks, as well as specific routing for dynamo hubs. The fork accommodates 29-inch wheels and tires up to 2.3 inches (63 mm).

The Trefoil Allroad expands the Trefoil family with a more versatile version intended for allroad bikes. It combines a clean aesthetic with solutions designed for daily use and adventure routes, such as hidden mounts for fenders, eyelets for lightweight luggage, and a wheel clearance of up to 45 mm. Its axle-to-crown height of 380 mm also aims to maintain a low center of gravity for improved stability.

The Futura Adventure fork also receives an update

In addition to the new models, Columbus has revised the Futura Adventure, which features a slight redesign to increase wheel clearance.

The brand claims that it can now accommodate tires up to 32 inches, becoming the only fork in its catalog compatible with this new MTB standard. According to Columbus, this increased capacity improves stability, traction, and the ability to overcome obstacles.

An increasingly complete component catalog

With these new handlebars and forks, the Columbus Components family continues where the Trittico handlebars and stems, carbon seat posts, Racespoons cyclocomputer mounts, and ultralight bottle cages are already found.

According to the company, all these new components are the result of several years of development and engineering in collaboration with carbon manufacturing specialists, aiming to offer solutions focused on performance, durability, and increasing integration for road, allroad, and gravel bikes.
